Just depends on your personal preference I don't think Google pixel blows Samsung out of the water. I think the Pixels produce some great pictures. But there are pictures that look better on Samsung and pictures that come out better on a Pixel or iPhone. I do this Pixel has a great night mode and sometimes can capture pictures in lower light better. But I think it really depends on what software you like better. Stock android, one u.i. or iOS. Also if you prefer pictures with that extra saturation that Samsung produces. Pixel seems to be more of a true to life tone. iPhone pictures have a saturation to them as well.

Samsung's image processing has always sucked. Their jpg output is pathetic and I say this as owner of Samsung for last 15 years. Luckily now I can now shoot dng with the S21 and process images myself. Google's pixels have alwasy looked much better in every comparison I've see. Having said that all smartphone jpg's look like crap when viewed at 100% on a large monitor. They are still light years behind real camera quality for jpg.  No amount of AI will help.

Calling a Pixel 7 Pro old is a bit much, no? Personally, I believe the longer we can make our devices last, the better.

Currently rocking a Pixel 7 Pro that I got for just about what a 7a costs currently on Black Friday. 100% love this phone. ZERO issues after 14 months. Fantastic photos... Some of the macro and zoom pictures I have taken are stunning.

Things are not as they seem in smartphone photography. Google's budget Pixel 7a beats the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and iPhone 15 Pro, and Sony's "camera-with-a-phone-strapped-to-it" Xperia 1 V performs abysmally. Testing 20 of 2023's best and brightest smartphone cameras across three different scenarios turns expectations on their head.
