You probably don't know, but IPS/VA/miniLED are not capable of supporting HDR10 (Static metadata). Only HDR10+ (Dynamic metadata), but I have not seen panels supporting it in any laptop, including the new 2024 models.

True HDR10 only starts with "True HDR" versions for monitors. It is supported only by two types of panels - AMOLED and microLED.

How many laptops with True HDR 600 support have you seen at retail with AMOLED? This is your homework - find such a laptop...;)

300 NITS and no HDR, this is dead on arrival for me.  I want to upgrade from my Alienware X16 R1 but I'm not giving up the brighter HDR display to do it.  I think they're driving me to either a desktop, or the ASUS Strix Scar, which has a really nice HDR display.  I just wish it had the Charry keyboard.  I've worn out too many ASDW keys on mushy standard laptop keyboards.

Dont be upset. TB5 was obsolete before it even appeared. Everyone no longer needs 120 GBit/s, but at least 160. For this reason, Display Port 2.1 is outdated, as is TB5 - both pass-through standards that have been too late and no longer needed by anyone. Everyone is waiting for DP3.0 and TB6 with a bandwidth of 160+ Gbit/s and optical cables, with which it is easy to solve cable length problems. ;)

Where is Thunderbolt 5 which was part of the Intel HX announcement?  Is AW asleep at the wheel? Nothing new for screen types, no TB5 and only Wifi 7 on upper end models?  The R&D team needs a wakeup call apparently they are still in bed.

Is the cooling still dysfunctional by unreachable screws of two of the fans? Is still one fan smaller so that the cooling remains insufficient?
