Quote from: Joel on January 04, 2024, 00:29:51Thing about Sony's 1 inch sensor is that it's not a dual transistor technology. That goes to the custom IMX888 or LYTIA 800. Sony's IMX 989 and LYTIA 900 is only a standard 1 inch with traditional transitor sensor tech. So Omnivision tryna beat different sensor in both tech and size isn't much of an achievement. Still a good competitor to Sony's IMX and Samsung's ISOCELL is always welcomed. We're not missing out by having more competition. Other than better buffer speed and image quality of course.
I'd give them benefit of doubt, 989 was developed for Xiaomi at first, and a year later everyone use it. It could happen this time too.

2024 will bring us many more exciting camera flagships, such as the Oppo Find X7 Ultra with the Hasselblad camera, the Honor Magic6 Pro, and the Vivo X100 Pro+, both presumably with 200 MP telephoto. Xiaomi fans also have an Ultra flagship launch coming up this year, and the rumors about the Xiaomi 14 Ultra now point to an exciting new Leica camera.
