Did you miss the comment at the end about frequent coffee stops?

Why would they need frequent coffee stops? Maybe because in everyday driving performance falls off a cliff, and that doesn't make the headlines they want.

Because outside North America driving for 10 hours isn't normal, 2 hours is a really long drive for most people from countries with pubic transport that is faster and more convenient. He could've taken the high speed train in Shanghai all the way to HK dinner 1200mi away in 8hrs.

For marketing. It's a live stream bro. They want attention hype and to drag it out for everyone to see. Jesus. Talk about you being anti EV. Who gives a crap about the performance. As if things don't improve over time. Get over it old man.

The Electric motors are direct drive 0-90 mph 0-9000 rpm, 100%torque at zero rpm with no flywheel losses. BUT THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STORY:
 (Heat-efficiency loss)miles/kw - 0/0 then 80% by 2000rpm(20mph) peak eff 98% 2500rpm (25mph)-
Drops slowly 3300 then steeper to 4500 rpm (45mph) then straight line plummets to 10% at 9000 rpm.
THE ANSWER IS YOU ONLY SPEND A SHORT TIME 0-20 unless climbing a 20% hill at 10 mph for 20 min- bad for very hot motor. Do it at 25 mph.- less heat loss.

Must must need best rpm 2000-4500 so direct drive 0-45 (no gear loss)then :

single planetary 50% overdrive 45-90- motor rpm efficient-2250 to 4500 rpm- they don't want you to know this.
And high efficiency air to air heat pump for cool and heat that reduces mileage less than 30 miles total on a charge.
Battery run charge at- 10%-80% May out live you. Especially with lower charge rates.
Last -need stream line low drag- air under car worse than air over the car
WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A CONSTANT WATTAGE SETTING
THAT WOULD LET SPEED VARY WITH CONSTANT KW.

It took many months of delay, but the 150 kWh solid-state electrolyte battery pack with 600+ miles of range is now in a production ET7. None other than NIO's chief is taking it on a country trip to test the range and live streaming the experience.
