Microsoft has finally unveiled its own custom silicon. The Maia 100 is Microsoft's AI accelerator designed for the Azure stack to train OpenAI's complex LLMs. The Cobalt 100 is an ARM-based chip with 128 cores aimed at optimizing power efficiency across Azure datacenters. Additionally, Microsoft has announced new Azure VMs powered by Nvidia H100 and AMD Instinct MI300X GPUs.
