Next year's iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are expected to feature a better performing A17 Pro SoC fabbed on TSMC's N3E process. The just-announced iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max use the A17 Pro that is designed on TSMC's N3B process. However, this process is not compatible with other TSMC 3 nm nodes, which means Apple will have to essentially redesign the A17 Pro for the new N3E node.
