 Yeah right.

The current id3 with the biggest battery already cost 50k€ lol
So you can expect at least 60k€ for a GTI version.

The rule of thuumb for EV is that you can divide by 2 the advertised range, and double the expected price given by the mainstream media

Apart from pricing, weight will determine how desirable the GTi actually is. A small hatch weighing 1900kg or is an instant fail.

VW says it is testing a working prototype of the electric ID GTI hot hatch that closely resembles the ID GTI concept we saw earlier this week. It may still change before the start of production in 2027, but the test vehicle is more compact than the concept. VW design boss also confirmed that there is an electric VW R car coming in the future.
