When are they going to release a laptop version of this chip?

Even the Smartphone-spec version with few Cortex-X cores, perform better than the octacore 8cx Gen 3 that features 4 old Cortex X2 and in a Samsung node similar to TSMC's 7nm.

On a Laptop TDP of 15W, this chip could finally be the M1-class competitor Windows and ChromeOS still lack, 3 years later...

The upcoming Qualcomm snapdragon 8 gen 3 will certainly be a high performance screamer chip that's sure to be very competitive and offer extremely fast android phone performance. As for Apple's upcoming A17 bionic, well I admit It'll be even faster, but only minimally and besides it runs on iOS and not android like Qualcomm does, so for those android users, nothing is lost by choosing 8 gen 3.
