Yea. Intel's e-cores are basically atom cores.
AMD's atom equivalent, the cat cores are long dead.
Looks like the 'e-cores' are more likely to be just lower clock zen n- cores, maybe with some other tweaks.
They probably have smt enabled as well.
But I hope they don't do this for high end cpus/apus for desktop and hx series.

CTO Mark Papermaster revealed at this year's ITF World event that AMD will soon introduce its own hybrid core technology with performance cores and efficiency cores similar to Intel's and Apple's implementations. This technology is to be featured on server-grade processors as well, and AMD will extensively use generative AI to improve energy efficiency along with core speeds.
