Bro you don't even know the price or the specs. All you are posting is some weird predictions.

Oh, please go to the Steam Deck groups on Facebook and say anything even remotely negative about the Steam Deck or Steam OS.  It is amazing the misguided and confused things these people say once their lips are removed from Gabe's backside!

They are like you describe sadly...

Jesus Christ, this "Samused" kid's posted comments reek of loneliness, frozen dinner, and his moms basement.  Steamdeck as it exists today is incredibly lackluster, and another company releasing a better piece of equipment for a better price really isn't something that anyone should be surprised by.

Asus as a longtime PC manufacturer can easily mass produce a superior machine as opposed to Valve that is just dipping their toes into hardware and trying to take advantage of hungry PC gamers looking to buy in on more portable options.

Do yourself a favor Samused, put the Steamdeck away and go outside for a healthy exposure to reality instead of yanking it while dreaming of Gabe Newell.  Save those salty tears of yours for seasoning your hot pockets and instant ramen.

No TouchPads on the front or paddles on the back. This is going to limit it's usefulness.

Just watched the Latest ETA Prime video Today on the Ally and that appears to be a MS/ASUS project with OS/Game-Pass tie-ins there and the APU is semi-custom from AMD so MS is maybe bankrolling that and ASUS is the OEM partner for the hardware there so maybe MS's the one subsidizing the hardware costs more there as part of the arrangement. The semi-custom APU will be what will be interesting if it offers more than 12 RDNA3 CUs there or has other MS console like features included with the hardware and that AMD Phoenix on die AI hardware IP block from AMD's Xilinx that's maybe even more optimized for AI based Up-Scaling/other AI tasks related to gaming.

Could AMD be offering semi-custom 7045 like APU that's MCM based with a Beefier I/O die based iGPU that offers some other features as well like Infinity Cache or V-Cache or both(?). But it's more than Likely to be some semi-custom Monolithic Phoenix(Zen-4/RDNA3) variant with a better iGPU and with some enhancements to the AI unit for gaming specific AI tasks like AI based Up-Scaling and AI based frame interpolation.

"with Steam Deck competitive pricing" LOL did an AI write this article sans any proper BOM(Bill Of Materials) training there against the more powerful Ryzen 6800U based handhelds' BOM costs against the Steam Deck's APU BOM cost that's only having 4 Zen-2 cores and RDNA2/8CU Graphics compared to the 6800U's 8 Zen-3+ cores and RDNA2 12CU graphics. And any Zen-4/RDNA3 12CU SKU is not going to be in the same Cost/Market segment there as that's going to be expensive and more in the above $1000 category like the 8 core/RDNA2 12CU offerings starting with the Ryzen 6800U based handhelds that will be Rebranded as 7030(Rembrandt-R) and the most expensive Ryzen/Phoenix Zen-4 8 core/RDNA3 12CU SKUs. And if ASUS is targeting any pricing closer than that of the Steam Deck's break even pricing then that will be with some lower core count/lower iGPU CU count Rembrandt-R and Phoenix APUs with less CPU cores and Less iGPU CUs.

ASUS does not have Valve's business model that's the same as Sony's/MS's business model where the consoles are sold at break even and the games sales/game services income makes for the business model Revenue/Income solution there for subsidizing the hardware's costs at break even. ASUS will have to make a markup on Hardware Sales as the viable business model solution there unless MS is somehow subsidizing that with some MS(Fee Windows license/other in kind assistance) only offering in partnership with ASUS. but still that's not going to reduce the hardware BOM costs.

ASUS has teased that its first Windows gaming handheld could almost be upon us, only a few weeks after teasing the device. The ASUS ROG Ally is also now expected to be priced at Steam Deck levels, despite featuring an AMD Zen 4 and RDNA 3-based APU.
