Is the Wifi runtime for the Gram 17 1240p correct?

The runtime is 669 mins for the 1240p vs 872 mins for the 1260p. Although the 1260p has a slightly bigger battery, it also has a slightly more powerful CPU and has a dGPU, so logically the 1240p should have better battery life.

Good review!

Thanks!

I would be interested to see gpu and cpu power consumptions on a few select titles, for example on witcher 3, which has low cpu requirement, and cyberpunk, which has high cpu requirement, and test them for an hour to see how the components behave. I know that some reviews provide the 1hour withcer 3 fps chart, but i would really like to see cpu and gpu power consumptions seperately, at the start and end of the test at least. This would give us an good idea on the efficiency of the chips as well.

It wont be "Gram" anymore, will it?. Dell XPS exists for a reason. And has all the things you want. People buy this for the sole reason of "Big screen + lightweight". Doing anything you want defeats that purpose. Besides, it can sustain 42 Watts of power during a stress test, giving gpu 26.5W and cpu 15.5W of sustained power. Heatpipes are doing their job.

Im disappointed that you didnt test the battery with "Idle (without WLAN, min brightness)". It is pretty important to see this figure because now there is a dedicated gpu on board. Please update your test.

To those asking 'why' (17" and light weight) - I already have the LG Gram 17 2021, and love it. I may buy this one. I need the biggest screen possible due to 'modest' eyesight, and I want the lightest possible packaging to reduce overall weight (note the power supply is very light also, but the long-life battery may enable traveling without PSU). I'm also sensitive to fan noise so want the quietest machine possible. I would never deploy this to a group of traveling businessmen (who tend to give laptops a rough ride) but if handled with moderate care, it is sturdy enough. I love the fact that I can just pick this up with ease and carry it around.  My biggest question really is, do I even need the dGPU ... but I'd love the bigger battery.

All for weight loss. At any cost...

The only question is - why do you need a light 17 "laptop? Will someone really carry this fragile overall laptop with them on business trips and other trips? And if not, why does it need such a small weight? Maybe silence is better, but a lot of weight? But then it will have to be excluded from the "Gram" line ... and what do we get in the end?

Using tape in a few places on the inside helps it a bit (see reddit discussion) but it is mostly empty. Why not review the 13th gen version that just came out?

I'm so baffled, I actually wrote a comment! It is the laziest laptop interior I have seen in my entire life!
They didn't even stress-test it, heat picture shows that very obviously, these heatpipes lack heat capacity for this laptop!

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 2050-equipped, 2022 LG Gram 17 weighs only 57 grams more than its counterpart - a device which comes without a dedicated graphics card. On top of this, the laptop offers a 12th-generation Intel Core i7 and 32GB of RAM. Despite having more powerful hardware, the battery on offer here lasts longer than its predecessors.
