People be going crazy because it's 1000hp, but only fast in a straight line. Throw that lard arse around a tight twisty road and watch a WRX for example destroy it. You can't beat physics. If we had solid state batteries and there was no weight penalty for going to EV, then sure bring it on. Current battery tech is an anathema to sports cars. Look at the Porsche Taycan hitting 2200kg or more for a cramped 2 seater.

Hi Mr Majestyk,
you're certainly not wrong, but these weight numbers don't tell the whole story. Due to the placement of the batteries, electric cars usually have a much lower center of gravity than their ICE counterparts. So yes, they are definitely heavier, but in most cases their handling isn't nearly as bad as the additional weight would suggest.

The all-electric model variant is expected to debut in two years time and may also feature a more modern fastback design, which would be a significant change for the rather traditional style of the performance sedan. Either way, the Alfa Romeo Giulia is supposed to remain the automaker's most desirable car according to its CEO.
