garbage laptop and not worth to buy , for 1500 USD you can get HP omen 16 or Lenovo Legion with better display quality and larger display paired with intel 13th gen CPU , I would even prefer to buy OMEN 17 with RTX 3070 rathan than wasting my money on this trash laptop with worthless GPU , AC adapter 240 W ???????!!!   USB-A 2.0 ??!! in 2023 Fuc* off broken hinges manufactor , I will buy HP OMEN or Lenovo Legion laptops

Honestly it is kinda hard to judge new laptops.

Subjectively, NVIDIA made a long overdue move to push down power consumption, temps and a slight increase in productivity. I think the sweet spot for a laptop is a CPU + GPU combined power comsumption of 100-140w which can be powered from a tiny USB-C GaN charger. I especially like those lower starting power consumption numbers (35-85w) - gives enough power on a battery without taking too much all the time. And IMO, CPUs are plenty powerful from 2-3 years ago. Don't see the NEED to keep up with the power increase. Better lower the consumption and temps

What I do not agree with the manufacturer are:

1. Noise. It should be below 40dB period. I remember working on some editing while sitting suring press release or conference and people giving ne a stink eye. Less noise is comfortable, laptop usage should be comfortable.
2. Design looks cheap and unsightly. It is possible to have a good design with cheap materials. Keyboardbs especially tacky. I don't see preteens shelling out 2k+. Part of a major reason I stopped buying RGB pimped laptops because I can't show my face with them outside the house.
3. Better go with the nice screens since majority of consumption/work is visual. It's like first Zephyrus G14 all over again.

The results are what they are, accept it or not. They were taken directly with Fraps (Witcher 3 old version) or CapFrameX (most games), with the resulting capture files imported into our systems.

As for the video you site: Even the Youtube says something went wrong with his Witcher 3 test. So that is a terrible example to cite.
My apologies, I shouldn't have accused you. I take my words back. Regardless, I still find it hard to believe that the 4060 offers similar performance to the 3070 ti. I'll wait for more comparisons to come out and then see where the 4060 stands.

It is not faster, of course. It is simply that the tests on this site are done with mostly CPU limited scenario (See Xplane, DOTA) where Raptor Lake is significantly faster than older CPUs. When the GPU is the limit (Witcher, FFXV, Strange Brigade) the 3070Ti is clearly faster. And also the 4090 being "+33% faster than 4060" is completely wrong.

Quote from: ApexPrime on February 23, 2023, 19:07:54The benchmarks on this review are really fishy because I've read other reviews and watched comparison videos and apparently even the 4070 can't beat the 3070 ti in most games without frame generation so how is the 4060 on par with 3070 ti here?

It is not, my Legion 5 rtx 3070 scores about 1000 points higher in time spy graphics.
They were comparing this 4060 to low powered 3070s, that's why

TS is definitely something to verify, as for games if you take the results where you are in CPU limited scenarios instead of being GPU limited the Raptor Lake CPU is quite faster than Alder Lake or Ryzen 5000/6000 series.

2100 euros for a unacceptable screen and overal mediocre product that i would not change for a Legion from 2021 with a 3060... that cost half price 1100 euro but had full sRGB screen, 300 nits...

Optix Blender render 25 sec improves from 29.9 sec. This is a very subpar improvement. That tough i don't put at MSI feet but at Nvidia.

They used acer predator helios for 3070ti comparison which has 150 watt tgp. That's like the maximum possible tgp for 3070ti. I think the reviewer got paid to tamper with the benchmark comparisons because there's a video on youtube where 4060 barely outperforms 3060 laptop and even loses to it in witcher 3. Link below:

it'd be nice if the GPU comparison charts included wattages, and used 1440p/4k benchmarks (which are already measured for the full table)

there are clearly CPU bottlenecks in some of those 1080p comparisons

2008 aesthetics and extremely loud, MSI trademarks basically. But for once it not burning hot, they finally made it after all these years.

The high-end models of Nvidia's new laptop GPUs recently debuted and are now followed by the mid-range RTX 4060 - a card we were able to test in the MSI Katana 17 B13V.
