VideoCardz already has an article that tested the 4090 in an eGPU enclosure, and it says it can be up to 20% less powerful.

BUT,
if it end up to be noticeably faster than a 175W 4090 Laptop, this might finally be a viable solution.
Not surprised knowing how crazy efficient the 40 series are.

it's useless for the majority of people, because ethe cost of the laptop and this enclosure with rtx 4090 will be much expansive than custom pc with rtx 4090.
and in my opinion even when there are certain cases for this. I still can't see the value of it.

Gigabyte is preparing to release a next-generation AORUS Gaming Box. Based on pre-release marketing materials, the AORUS Gaming Box has fewer HDMI ports than its predecessor but an additional USB Type-C connection. Gigabyte will also pre-install a custom NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 with a built-in liquid cooling system.
