In 2023 there is no excuse to just use Cortex A53 cores. Mediatek should as an absolute minimum use a couple of A76 large cores to improve single threaded performance.

It can only encode video at 1080P @ 30 fps.

There is a large and visible difference between 30 fps and 60 fps

MediaTek has indicated that the updated Helio G36 SoC will be the one to bring specs such as 50MP rear cameras and 90Hz displays to the new budget, 4G/LTE-only smartphones of the near future.
