I have been checking the Build-Your-Own-Pc configuration for the T14s G3 AMD for months now and have never seen any OLED option, only 1200p LCD panels.
And this is the right decision, because OLED is terribly bad today. They all flicker (those with super black), they all glare because matte does not exist. They all burn out, the resource is only 7k-8k hours. And they are all poorly calibrated, often failing to achieve dE less than 2, which is easily proven by dozens of reviews on NB.
And often AMOLED has a lower color resolution than IPS.

Thus - the best solution for today's eyes - 4k@120Hz IPS panels. They should be installed in all laptops without exception. We work and watch videos in 4k, and if you want to play on a "gaming" laptop - 4k easily turns into a crystal-sharp fhd mode, where the load on the video chip immediately drops 4 times. And if you need to work on battery power, you can switch the panel to 60Hz mode, and if this is not enough, again switch 4k to fhd mode.

I don't understand why 4k@120Hz is not installed in all laptops without exception from $1000, they even cost about $140-150 on Ali, i.e. about 1.5 times more expensive than moss-covered fhd panels.

And the most stupid decision of manufacturers is to put 2.5k panels in "gaming" laptops - they will never give a clear picture either when you need more fps and we are forced to switch to fhd, or to fhd / 4k video, i.e. 2.5k is not compatible with anything.

Therefore, you need to stop doing nonsense and make a general unification of all laptops on a 4k panel. How once ppi was sharply raised in smartphones to 300+ and now no one can buy a smartphone with a worse screen...
Finally, someone who understands why this oled madness needs to end and how terrible the 'gaming' laptops' screens are...
Ah. so glad we have 326+ ppi minimum in smartphone screens these days!!

These companies want to sell to stupid people and do not care for well-informed people.

AMEN @NikoB! I could not agree more. I've been unwilling to replace my laptop for about a year now because its been impossible to find a good non-gaming laptop a 120hz IPS display. Everything is either an overpriced, battery-draining, flickering OLED or an unreasonably dim, 60hz IPS (sometimes also with flickering).

I really don't understand it. I find it baffling that companies like Lenovo will continue to slap a subpar 200 nit screen into otherwise high-end laptop models. The screen is both the part that will first attract consumer attention in a physical store, as well as the part we will interact with the most as a user--it seems like the dumbest place to cut corners.

As others have said, lenovo has completely massacred ThinkPad. From poor build quality, to bios updates that break functionality and never fixed, p*** poor software compared to thinkvantage, and zero after sales support. Lenovo hates ThinkPad

As a ThinkPad buyer for 20+ years I'll never buy another one

You can also switch configurations: try configuring your Intel-based laptops so that they lose close to 30% when on battery, and configuring the AMD 6000s so that they don't, so that you have that AMD-based laptops are much better on battery.
I'm not sure why you decided to configure your AMD laptops to lose when on battery, but it seems a bit strange.

As for Lenovo, I've been a 20+ years customer for their ThinkPad products (even when it was still IBM). However, the terrible reliability of their T14s G1 AMD, and P14s G2 AMD as well as pulled and re released firmware updates pushed me to stop buying them. The ThinkPad brand no longer stands for the high quality we learned to expect.

Is the closest price performance ratio Macbook Air M2 competitor still on X64 you can find. I bought it last year in 2022, is a great Apple notebook replacement only if you can find it at 30% cheaper then the Air with M2 on total price tag.

Lenovo introduces numerous ThinkPad laptops into the market every year that each cover different market segments. It is not easy to select one model from this wide selection that is "the best," but we still think that for most users, this is the Lenovo ThinkPad T14s G3 AMD.
