Unfortunately, Linux never became User Friendly OS in any version. Therefore, everything also relieves the miserable existence in the backyards of the desktop OS market. The team of the do not do something decent without payment cannot. As proved by history. Linux makes sense only in large companies as server OS with professionals support for money and nothing else. At home, he was drunk, unsafe and glow, i.e. It is simply dangerous. No one wants to poke around at night with its settings. When there is even a visual manager of tasks close in quality to Windows and there are no same habitual hot keys for controlling the keyboard from the box, as well as the usual interface. And the memory requirements are already higher than to Windows, which has long been caused only by laughter.

To put a funny Skype I had to study the Internet in order to find out the necessary commands for installing and setting up from the command line and with all the software just the same. Moreover, 90% of commercial software is not there and never will be.

So buy an Android? People buy apple for the ecosystem, integration, and the design, not cost.

People buy Android for cost, flexibility/choice in hardware, software/features.

Both can and do coexist cordially.

I personally choose Android/Linux for cost/features/customization, and, oddly, Firefox, which is what I use 90% of computing devices for.

Yes, I know and have written about it many times. All the "cream" was removed only by the Americans. The rest get it at an high prices. But this is exactly what happens when your country is not the hegemon on the planet.

Now it is much cheaper to buy a laptop in some Thailand or Singapore than in Europe.

In China, by the way, which is amazing, despite the fact that almost everything is assembled from components iPhone to another hi-tech goods - iPhone prices are among the highest on the planet. Although they should be the lowest in the world for the Chinese and even 20-30% lower than for the Americans (who own key technologies and therefore take the bulk of the margin everywhere). Shoemaker(or rather, his main apprentice who does all the rough work is much cheaper than american workers) without shoes...

The world itself has submitted to such a state, thanks to the stupidity and ignorance of the majority of its inhabitants. And the United States, thanks to the efforts of its previous generations of immigrants, is still sitting on the throne...

Quote from: NikoB on December 10, 2022, 14:01:10It's easier to add $200 and buy on the same ebay where the best Legion 7 6800H+6700M(10Gb VRAM) 16/1Tb is. It is much quieter in the office and surfing, and better quality in literally everything. Starting from the webcam (1080p, instead of the miserable 720p in the "Pro" version) and ending with the presence of USB40 (eGPU) unlike L5Pro.

Lenovo's "Pro" prefix today is a blatant mockery of the buyer, since the regular Legion 5 2022 Intel version has a 1080p webcam, just like the top-end Legion 7 (which, in theory, should already have top webcam 4k@60fps with autofocus and better bright optics, while the L5 has 1080p@60fps and "Pro" version - L5Pro has 1440p@60Hz). Especially considering the recent review of the L5 model with the Intel 12700H, which is MUCH quieter than the L5Pro under "average" load. =)

In fact, it turns out that the L5Pro 2022 series is the most unsuccessful for Lenovo vs L5 2022(Intel) and L7 2022(AMD).

Quote from: Ryan22 on December 10, 2022, 02:27:17Still a high price tag with only 8gigs of ram. Most laptop brands will have 16 gigs for 1500 bucks, let alone for over 2k. Pass!

Hi Ryan,
this laptop actually has 16GB of RAM, which are also upgradable. You probably misread the "8GB VRAM" passage, which refers to the memory of the graphics card.

This fast 16-inch gaming laptop from Lenovo is equipped with a high-performing components like an AMD Ryzen 9 CPU and RTX 3070 Ti dGPU, but the Legion 5 Pro Gen 7 also sports a very decent 165Hz QHD display with a high peak brightness of 500 nits.
