Does anyone remember when the S series and Note series were separate (and I mean way before the last gen Note. Back in the day the s series would release early in the year and then the Note series would close up the year and contain all the top tech in the phone world. The s series and Note never got the same processor or memory,  etc. The Note would usually get the Qualcomm plus or refresh that was newer and more powerful than the s series one. Then around the Note 8 that all changed and the Note became just a larger s series with a pen. And samsung wonders why sales dropped off from productivity users. They wanted the latest and greatest but got hardware that was 6 months to a year old and was already out in the s series device for almost a year. Samsung is definitely the dumbest mobile company. The reason I haven't updated my Note 10+ is they dropped MST after that and I use MST at many stores that still don't have or allow nfc (like Walmart). And then cutting costs while you sell a $1500 phone, lol. Selling a $1000+ phone with a plastic back and old tech, that's samsung for ya!

Whoever feels the need to update their phone, will do that. Everyone has different criteria. Mine is firstly the OS updates schedule, and secondly the general condition/performance of the device. Just got android 13 with One UI 5.0 so my Note 20 ultra got at least another year lease of life. If that was it's last OS update, it will be replaced by the end of next year, unless something happens to it earlier,  that impacts it's function. At the time of replacement I will see what's the best device for me, I'll not wait for anything to be released and in general I'm not buying devices recently released. I let others to do the beta testing for me,  I'll buy it a few months later. So, probably S23 Ultra will be my next phone, in a year or so from now.

Very disappointing news. 3D sonic fingerprint reader on the S22 series is way better than any optical one but the bigger size would have been a welcome upgrade. I'm not upgrading then 🤷♂️ I don't see the point of cutting cost like this because it only gives consumers more reasons to keep their phones. If Samsung pushed the envelop like they did until the S10/Note10 series they would have better sales which would make them more money

That is a cheapskate shortcut on what's supposed to be a cutting edge smartphone. Looks like I'll be hanging on to my S9+ longer still. This new sensor was very important. Pathetic from Samsung.

An image of the protective glass for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra flagship smartphone has purportedly been leaked, and it reveals a potential disappointment for fans. There were some expectations that the Galaxy S23 Ultra would sport Qualcomm's large 3D Sonic Max in-display fingerprint sensor – but cost-cutting measures may have put paid to that.
