I'm willing to admit when I'm wrong/made a mistake. I Looked at the SCUF site again they do have a $200 version of the ps5 controller. I didn't see that on my original browse. However, that's without a case so still more expensive than the Sony package (If you care about getting the case).

Quote from: St1tchz on October 20, 2022, 15:41:25Outlandish price... Lol. I was expecting $200 and it's $200... Comparable to Scuf and actually PS branded. I will gladly pay $200.

Somy sure does love having blind followers such as yourself. Keep lining their greedy little pockets.

As a business they are incredibly scummy. Nickle and diming you at each and every turn. I don't feel like educating you, I took the time to educate myself on this topic. Which you can do, too. All it takes is a little search about their greed and shady business tactics involving the PS brand.

They can't even be bothered to give this lame controller to Canadians at first. Though by the sound of it, it would be a $250 touch. I bought my SCUF for $80 less than that. Comparable my fuckin' a**.

Your last comment is such BS, I just looked at that site and they have higher prices for all their ps5 controllers, which completely invalidates your argument. It can get as high as $346.89 with all the stuff added on and that's not including shipping or the case if you want to get that as well. The cheapest ps5 controller is $249 and again, that's not including shipping or adding on the case.

As far as being a scummy business or w/e, news flash, that's how all major companies are run, Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, Samsung, Verizon, I could keep going but it would be a long list. It's a machine we all feed into no matter what you do or don't buy, so getting all high and mighty about not buying a Sony product because it's "Overpriced" while paying for a similar product from a different company is ridiculous. Get off your high horse and get over yourself.

I don't get these overpriced comments either. The website you yourself listed has comparable prices(I looked), people will pay hundreds of dollars on mice, keyboards, headsets etc, but god forbid Sony make a controller with features on it and sell it for $200. Do you get mad at people buying a $2000 phone every year? Why the hell do you care what people spend their money on when it has no effect on your day to day life.

Quote from: Edge on October 21, 2022, 19:38:21They couldn't even be bothered to provide a charging dock with it, lol. It lets you run your cable through the case, how nice. It really is outlandish.
You'd leave your $200 controller on the dock to collect dirt and dust? That's why it comes with the case, one that lets you charge it while inside, you know, like a dock...I swear some people find the most stupid thing to complain about.

"I swear some people find the 'most stupid' thing to complain about"

Oh, you mean like how you're complaining about how this person chooses to charge their controller?? Grow up, tiny man. Your house must be insanely dirty if your controllers collect so much dust during their charging allotment that you rag on someone else fpr daring to leave their controller exposed to the air. Sony fanboys really haven't changed, have they? Keep paying into their greedy pockets.

I'm not Rich and it'll be in front of my PS5 Soon enough. So many whiners and the sad part is that yeah, y'all don't do much actual fact checking. It's in line with Xbox and better pricing than Scuf. I think some of y'all need to give up your PS5 and go to the Xbox side. Buh bye, have a nice day.🤦

This is actually quite reasonable. Has anyone seen the prices of Scuf and Hex gaming pro controllers? Maybe the writer just isn't up to speed on these things. Comparing a CORE model elite controller (that came out for last gen consoles) that's over 2 years old to something brand new and next/current gen is just stupid.

People complaining, main gamers pay 200 plus dollars. I paid over 200 dollars for my ps4 controller. Cynch Gaming. If you think its too expensive, then don't buy it. But I think its awesome that Sony/Microsoft is coming out with their versions of these high end controllers. Worth it.

Its $20 more than an Elite 2 with two less back paddles and functionality most won't ever need; the fanboys crying about this article are hysterical. The Edge is overpriced for sure and a hard pass! ...and I make a comfortable six figures working in IT and a proud owner of ALL consoles and a self-built gaming PC. This is typical Sony giving less for more and fanboys falling in line. It'll never change because of y'all! LOL

Quote from: Dominic Garza on October 20, 2022, 09:31:58What do you mean 3x the value of a Xbox Elite controller. You said $200 for this new ps5 controller and $120 for the Xbox controller. That isn't even double the value! I'd highly suggest making a correction to that statement.

129 for Two Xbox..  vs 199 for One ps..
That is 3x the cost.
The Xbox controller is $140. Where do you get 2 for that price

Unlike one article I read here, The Price is ridiculous even with the so-called features that I have on my regular PS5 controller. I don't use back pedals, so that feature is not used. I can adjust trigger pull ( true, no backstop ) on my regular PS5 controller L2 & R2.
The response is a little more on the new PS5 controller but not enough to make a tactical advantage over everyone else. I will keep my $$$ in my pocket!!!
I don't need to be kitchen, lol.

What's outlandish with that price? At the electronic store where I work, the Xbox Elite 2 has been at the same price several times. Yeah it's cheaper now, but it's also been available for a year at least. AND, the Dualsense Edge has way more features than the Xbox Elite 2, so this price is definitely reasonable, and I was honestly expecting a higher price. Whoever complains about this obviously never got a no from their parents.

The original price of the Elite 2 was $179.99 USD 2 years ago. The only reason it's 129.99 now is if you're buying the "core" model. This is not an accurate comparison. Do some better research.

This price point is right in line with basically every other custom or "pro" gaming controller. The full Elite Series 2 is often on sale, but it's standard MSRP is $189.99, not $129.99 as this article claims. Additionally, some SCUF controllers can climb even higher then that in price.

The only real concerning part is if Sony is actually only going to run this controller for a limited time. Seems like a deliberate way to create a false demand for something that is otherwise a pretty niche item.
