I do believe they meant that the periscope will be 4cm, not the sensor.

According to reports, Sony is looking to build on the variable zoom camera included in this year's Xperia 1 IV. Additionally, the Xperia 1 V may borrow from the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max by re-using their 48 MP primary cameras.
