If they're going to poke fun at Valve for the Steam Deck they should at least get the ergonomics right on the hand-helds before doing so. That is the only one major complaint I have with GPD. Valve isn't just following the industry trend that Nintendo has set for everyone else, they actually got it right with the design.

Yeah but it will be 1500$, only problem I have with the deck is the vent placement on the right side, while holding it my pinky naturally sits in the vent, just feels off.

Now take all the developing power valve has and the support custom coding everything. This thing doesn't have track pads and can go right in the trash. Keep playing with that extra 15% of battery like it matters though.

I mean, I know the steam deck uses a natively portrait display, and I'm pretty sure the majority of other windows portables do as well. it makes it annoying when for example you install Windows and it defaults to sideways and you can't change it until you install display drivers; or when Windows wants to set the display to portrait when you reboot, or (dis)connect a monitor; plus it seems like there's some kind of weird stuff when the framerate isn't locked to the refresh rate or something

I'm the only one that finds these pissing contests petty?

Yeah blah blah it has better battery and perhaps a slightly better soc than the deck. But what about the price? Any of these gdp aya neo are all China based and shipped. Total price ends up being many times 3x what a entry deck would be. Simply not worth it. Don't even get me started with the customer support. If you ever need to service one of those. Good luck!

I don't get why it has to be so small. It could have simply done away with wasted space like the Deck's enormous bezel, but there's only so much shrinkage you can do and still fit a human hand. It loses a lot of the ergonomics of even the Win 3.

The steam deck has steam integrated as well a plethora of features that just makes it stand out. Being able to go into sleep mode while in the middle of the game and then turn it on and plating right where you left is super convenient. Also the steam Co troller software is just beyond leap ahead of anything and it has a community templates so you can download someone else set up. Steam deck goes beyond its anesthetics and that's something that companies like Epic don't understand, valve/steam just offers so many features that they have set the standard and if you don't meet those standards then you will be inferior

You know what this device doesn't have?... gaming household name recognition like Steam. Second to market gets the scraps or fails entirely. No one wants to spend $300+ on something that may be unsupported in less than a year.

The price will make or break this devise. If they priced this devise competitively then it will be a great alternative to the Steam Deck especially for region who can't get the Steam Deck yet. But if they priced it the same as the GPD Win Max 2 as they did before with their previous devises the Win Max and the Wind 3 wer the later was more expensive even thow it was less powerful then it's going to be dead on arrival no matter how superior it is to the Stream Deck especially with all the competition out at the moment. There is no reason or excuse to sell this devise at a premium especially wen not just Valve is pricing it's product competitively just look at Aya with the Aya Neo 2 geek and Ayn with the Loki Max wish both will use the same 6800u APU and the price is very similar to Valve's Steam Deck just a little bit higher but not by much and both use Windows 11 out of the box so no software licence or game store excuse.     

The jab at its size seems a strange one when the device has to omit trackpads as a result, and instead opts for a nub like it's a mid 2000's office laptop.

I'm sure it'll be fine, but even with GPD being such relative veterans in the handheld market, they still can't compete on price. This will be 2.5x the price of the Deck which I can't justify.

If I could justify it, I'd still be reluctant given GPD's customer support is less than satisfactory, especially in the face of Valve's relative competence in that aspect.

Let's see if they brag about their price aswell
