Actually, each pair of 20 GWhour factories will produce enough batteries for half a million BEVs at 80 KWhours each.

2 X 20 X 109 / 80 X 103 = 0.5 X 106

Who let this guy behind a keyboard? 20GWh is a hilarious amount, enough for 10'000 cars a year "by 2025", when Tesla will be selling 2'000'000 cars a year.

Tesla's 50% reduction goal is in relation to their own costs which are already far lower than the rest of the industry.

Instead of building Gigafactories, BMW partners with CATL and others over their superior 4680-beating battery packs for its future electric cars. It will have two factories of 20 GWh each in Europe, China, and America, for a number of new cars with extended range by 2025.
