I bought an HP ProBook 450 G9 some nine months ago...  At the price, the pitiful 16GB RAM it comes with is stingy of HP, as 16GB is next-to-useless these days.

Most important aspects, IMO:

1) It is hysterical to call it 'Pro-'Book - it can barely handle any software and the CPU is persistently at 100%.

2) Already, one of the USB port connectors is coming loose - at the price this laptop has, that's disgusting and a rip-off.

3) I can only describe it as expensive rubbish that HP should be ashamed of knowing they are ripping off consumers with.  Stay very away from this overpriced tat.

Most modern laptops are made by some kind of inadequate, who do not understand the real target audience. Which is clearly seen in sales. The same G8 455 in a normal configuration (16x1 memory module from the factory) and the price is snapped up quite quickly, and the G9 450, and even more so the G8, has been lying around in all shops for months at an inadequate price and no one needs it at all. What's the use of Intel's 12 series if it runs 1.5 times slower than the obsolete Zen2+? In G9 450 i7 1255U, even in turbo mode is completely disgraced...

HP employee - re-login. The honor of the corporate uniform must be defended openly.

The laptop is wildly slow for late 2022 and for what the 1255U is really capable of. CO could be dramatically better, which is clearly seen in the shameful 1 heat pipe (there are two of them in the G8 455). Yes, and the cooler is larger and the radiators.

Yeah, yeah! Only good for 2008! You tell em, brother!
O-only 5,500 points in GB5, too! What is this like, only twice the performance of Core i7-9xx Extreme?

The author gave incorrect information on ports. According to HP's current specifications on their website, they claim HDMI 2.1b ports (this standard doesn't exist in nature, especially in the form of chips) and Display Port 2.1 (it also doesn't exist in hardware implementation).

It seems to me that HP, realizing how shameful they made the series in practice, is simply trying to deceive illiterate ordinary people and try to sell them this series using ordinary fraud, giving deliberately false information on ports ...

Actually, according to manual of 450g9:
"Secondary M.2 2230 solid-state drive. The secondary solid-state drive is installed in the same connector as the WWAN module. You can use one or the other, but not both. "

Quote from: Hktrh on September 02, 2022, 09:38:27I have Probook 450 from 2014, with horrible 250 nits display.
A new 72% NTSC panel costs ~$100 on ebay and ~$90 on Ali...Installation, even if you've never done it before - 45-60 minutes maximum. Profi do it in 10-15 minutes in service centers. Why torture yourself for so many years with a shameful colorspace? This is the main thing. But the ppor brightness - perfect nonsense. At home and office, 100-150 nits is enough. All panels can do this without exception.

The Gx 4xx series from HP has a bunch of other flaws, which are wrote in detailed commentary in English by me. Commentary are stated in the comments to the German review (since they come out earlier) ...

8 years have passed and HP puts even darker horrible display into its laptops. Seriously, what the fck is wrong with that company?
Never ever would I buy anything with less than 350 nits minimum brightness. All competitors in the market are providing 400-500-1000 nits beautiful displays.
HP, stop making laptops. The hardware you use in your "new" machines is either a year old or previous generation, while competitors such as ASUS has brought new equipment to the stores already 9 months ago.

The Core i7-1255U rocking ProBook 450 G9 runs whisper-quiet and stays cool to the touch while operating quite efficiently. It also has a long-lasting battery to boot. Our review shows how much of a potential Alder Lake-U has to offer and whether or not it is put to good use in the business laptop.
