How about a charger???

HARD PASS....

My Note 20 Ultra is doing very well, AND HAS BOTH ITEMS!
Don't hold your breath, look elsewhere.
If we DON'T VOICE OUR OPINION about it, IT DEFINITELY WON'T HAPPEN!!!!

smh...I've been very vocal about them losing the headphone jack for 2 years, then I realized, Samsung is not even worth the trouble. If I need two things in a flagship and one of them is a Samsung specialty, it's just the S-Pen, beyond that I'd rather get that Xiaomi with the Type-1 sensor because it'll be far superior (when matched to gcam) to Samsung's nonacell or whatever stupid name they renamed it, the default camera would probably be more likable too, it also looks more premium.
So between a well-rounded Xiaomi with my current favorite sensor on mobile and a Samsung with nothing particularly outstanding but the S-Pen and neither has the headphone jack, I'd rather get the Xiaomi.
If I absolutely need the headphone jack, I'll get the latest ROGP with crappy camera but outstanding battery life, sustained performance and latency, not to mention 2 C ports, an absolute powerhouse...then "deuglify" the back cover using sandpaper or something.

I honestly don't see what the issue is. I've had Samsung Galaxies since the very first one years ago. I have zero complaints. I fell in love with the camera of the S20 Ultra! I've literally got 7K photos on my phone because of it. And I have zero issues with storage. I don't know, maybe I'm a fluke, but I absolutely love my galaxy phones

In this day & age there really is no reason to not have an SD card slot or an IR blaster or a headphone jack for that matter. And knowing Samsung there will be a shitty Exynos version to boot.

I will not be investing in Samsung anytime soon.

I'm extremely disappointed on not having an SD card slot. The note 20 ultra was the last ultimate phone. SD card with powerhouse specs and all the accessories it needs. I don't want to hear this BS that storage is not important because if their home country can get all the specs and slots in the world, we should get the same. I get people don't really know why would they need anything. Well it's for the power use not the average user who doesn't understand anything of the device he or she is purchasing. Samsung can sell what they want to sell but once they forget about the power user they lost me and lost my money as well.

They need to get rid of Bixby, (or at least make it 100% defeatable) so the Google Assistant will actually work properly. Until then, Samsung will not be selling me another phone. I swear they intentionally break parts the Google Assistant. I have had several Nexus and Pixel Devices along with 4 Galaxy devices and there is a clear and obvious difference in the performance of the Google Assistant. My mom's entry-level Moto One 5G Ace works better than my Galaxy S21 with voice commands. It is pitiful. As soon as I can get a Pixel 7 I will say bye-bye to Bixby.

Odd, seems nearly everyone commenting has an issue with Galaxy phones.
I'm loving this phone. I've had Galaxies since the S7 and I've only had issues with one phone...and that was just an design flaw. The camera lenses were far too open to damage (even encased in an Otterbox Defender).
I don't really feel the need for an SD card either...I have a 512gb ultra and I've barely touched the storage with 11 pages of apps, hundreds and hundreds of photos, videos, 3d scans...
If you use up more than 256gb of storage on a phone, you have issues.
Seek help.

I'll probably pioneer an S23ultra too. I'm cautiously dubious about the spec claims but I've, thus far,  been pleasantly surprised at each release.
If anything, that's one sweet camera sensor...almost completely worth the price of admission. I still can't complain about the battery life on the S22...I still get good battery life length with moderately heavy use, so an enhanced battery isn't so much a game changer for me either. We'll see what happens when theres more confirmed specs.

Quote from: Chris in Ohio on August 22, 2022, 15:02:53I have the S22 Ultra and preferred my S20+. Not only was it lighter but the battery lastest longer without having to dumb down the phone. Expandable memory was a plus.  When using the S-Pen, I find that when I touch the screen it often will not recognize the tap, especially around the letter 'T'. I also find that this phone lags. Battery is my biggest issue by and far above my other gripes. It is horrible.  Especially if I want at least a semi-bright phone, with a good refresh rate. The keyboard's swipe texting seems to choose words incorrectly more often. My next concern is whether or not my keyboard will burn into the screen like it did on my S20+ (which I had replaced 2x).  It's the keyboard.  There's no eliminating that function either!  Overall, the phone was a major waste of $$, I much preferred my Motorola Edge to both of my Samsung phones.
Very interesting, burn-in should be a rarity these days. I had 4 Samsungs in total (about to get a 5th, demoted to a mere backup), only the S6 had slight burn-in after 2+ years, a Note8 had a slight yellow cast after about the same usage, but it was homogenous so I don't believe it should be called burn-in. I suggest that you get a dark colored theme for your keyboard, I got it the moment I could(to go with my system theme, and saves power too) and I never got keyboard burn-in, the burn-in I got on my S6 was part of a light colored chat interface.

No memory chip slot?
Pass!
My family (siblings, kids, etc) all have Apple phones and constantly are after me to do so as well.  Samsung, with dumb "marketing" decisions is achieving what they could not for years.  My years of getting the best new generation of Galexy (Notes) are ending.  My next phone will be what I called "the fruit for fruits" phone...  Apple, you've a "convert" by virtue of "dumb-as-dirt" "marketing" decisions by Samsung.

Bring back the SD card or keep it. The dependence on the cloud is based on the assumption that you have reliable network coverage all the time. Some folks dont; we travel through places with spotty coverage, work in buildings with poor signal etc. We need storage right there on the phone.

Why did they take our storage away? I live in an area not known for having great wireless service and it kills me that I have to rely on the cloud. One of the reasons I have stayed droid was adjustable storage.

New s23ultra will be a waste of money like s20-s22 if Samsung doesn't correct display and overheating issues that has their phone and offer some real solutions, as s20ultra user I just chose another phone cause this issues, can't Samsung expect we just use their phone less than 1 year and get new one or be changing display every now and then.
