You are not seeing the full picture:

- these sensors make pictures binding pixels (103 MP > 12 MP) together, getting more light *but* as these SoCs are much more powerful than those from dSLR and have much more RAM, they also take a single full res shot at the same time, to retrieve detail. So in general, for one photo, my S20/S22 Ultra take around 5 to 10 pictures (and for night mode up to 20) to make a SINGLE one.

- most sensors capture (on high-end phones) 3 photos for HDR, 1 for shadows, 1 full res for detail. Combine together.

- on very good light you can capture full res photos, that means 200 MP. Why not?

- dSLR have lens with progressive zoom, phones have mostly fixed zoom lenses. The 200 MP sensor, cropped, allows from 1x to 2x without losing much detail. You can even do (for 12 MP photos) around 5-6x "optically" without moving parts.

So, you can't compare a huge and heavy camera with a smartphone. They have to find other ways

He don't fret not really an issue with internal hard drive crashing if you backup regularly to a laptop with 5tb external hard drive and use Samsung smart switch to copy everything to a second phone I use just for that purpose and don't use cloud all good for me. But for a lot of people I understand where your coming from good point.

I never cared for the microSD card slot even when I had an Android phone which has it. I prefer the dual SIM feature which also uses the same slot.

Oh and enjoy when someone hacks your cloud storage...

That thought makes me feel all warm and fuzzy, that someone would consider me important enough to hack my cloud account !!!!! AS THEYRE HACKIN THEYLL ALSO GET TO JACKIN when they see the infinite scroll of D pics....seriously tho if you think there are only 2 ways to store data externally is an SD card or the cloud.....you deserve to lose all your D pics foeva

I'm in total agreement on the micro sd card slot! Samsung is so full of sh** too I love how they said you don't need one anymore but a month and a half later they release the a53 5g WITH a Micro SD card SLOT! So apparantly you do need them but only if you wiling to pay 1/3 the price of their flagship and buy a lower mid range phone. What a bunch of RETARDS!!!

I have Full frame Sony A7RII camera with all kind of lenses. No mobile camera can touch the professional camera and lenses. It is stupid to keep this fight for mobile camera megapixels. Remember: it is the optic(lens) and the big sensor(full frame) that gives better pictures. You cannot compare the tiny mobile sensors with the full frame one.
I do have Sony Xperia 1 III that fulfill my expectations as mobile device. 12 megapixels on the mobile camera is enough. Maybe the Tesla mobile will change the market once it is here but this fight for more megapixels is stupid
