The revenues emanating from the market for smartphone chipsets (including mobile basebands as well as APs and SoCs) grew by 23% year-on-year (YoY) in the first quarter of 2022 (1Q2022). TSMC was found to be responsible for producing nearly exactly 70% of this silicon, with Samsung coming in at the remaining ~30%. Then again, the latter grabbed the greater share in terms of the most advanced and newest chipsets, such as those of the 4 nanometer (nm) variety.
