Just read over the specs - 1000:1 contrast on both of these panels is shocking low for a monitor targeted at creators?

Is there any information about the backlight configuration for these two models and whether or not it can be disabled?

Guessing these will be the typical edge-lit fare with only 8-16 zones where poor implementation (game / movie dark scene flickering, subtitle strobe effect etc) can ruin the ability to actually use them in HDR.

Samsung has presented the ViewFinity S8 series in two sizes. To be available later this month, the S27B800PXE and S32B800PXE offer 4K native resolutions with up to 600 nits of peak brightness. Both monitors have numerous ports too, including a USB Type-C connection capable of recharging devices at up to 90 W.
