In what parallel reality Xperias are expensive again? Always the same biased nagging and nevermind the other brands that cost the same and then some.
Xperias are top quality Android gadgets, if you haven't owned one you would not understand. They do what they extremely well, and has stuff that the other manufacturers do not even care about because of maximizing the profits.
I look forward to seeing the IV, however unless something horrible happens my III should serve me very well for at least three-four years more.

I dont understand why people keep criticising sony for it price? 1.They gave headphone jack - Samsung & Apple don't 2.They gave you SD Card slot - Samsung & Apple don't 3.they gave charging plug 45W- Samsung & Apple don't 4.256GB Internal storage - Samsung & Apple they do but the price will go up by £100(£1249) 5.4K Display(customer Choice) 6.2 front stero speaker- Samsung & Apple don't 7. 5000MAH battery So the price is justified by what Sony Gives. The thing I like about sony the most is that they dont follow Apple like Samsung does Remember when samsung took a p*** out apple for removing headphone jack a year or 2 samsung removed headphone jack same goes for plug when they made an advert saying we will provide charging plug and a year later they also too removed the charging plug.

Sony's other businesses are doing very well, the (overpriced) Xperia phones are just a project/hobby for Sony to say 'see what we can do'. And only the most hardcore Xperia (not Sony) fans will buy Xperia phones.

If Sony's overall business is bad, Xperia phones would have been discontinued long ago, similar to LG.

Since it's Sony, if the new phone is announced in May, expect it to be actually available in August or September. Sony just can't be bothered to have the shipping efficiency of Apple and Samsung: pre-orders start from announcement event, worldwide availability in 2-3 weeks.

Why does Sony even bother today with this failed sector of its business after so many years of flops?

Always overpriced, dated tech when it releases, extremely short region/territory availability, slow *native/local* PlayStation ecosystem integration, worst cameras compared to its rivals (and Sony leads in imagery... wtf)... on and on.

I guess somewhere deep inside of Sony (denial much?), they still believe that one day, they will make a historical come back from the 80/90's days and reclaim to be the King of tech, huh?

Yeah, I had that same mindset too in the early 2000s but after so many selloff's/failures, REALITY kicked in.

ROFL sure thing there.

Maybe if you check back into reality you'll see Sony are a leader in their fields. They don't need to pay for fake benchmarks and reviews when the products speak for themselves.

More Sony Xperia 1 IV leaks have surfaced with one detailing the alleged display type the flagship smartphone will have while the other comes courtesy of an FCC record. Interestingly, information from the latter source does offer some credibility to the potential May 2022 launch window for the Xperia 1 IV.
