agree with all 4c A510 & 4C A710 are perfect for nowadays phones. SD8 gen 1 is needless for all phones.

Hope that Qcom/Nuvia reach a strong partnership with ARM surfing on new worlds like SBC/miniPC/notebooks, so can mantain their minds power and won't do a cut in their society.

P.S. as was suggested by anandtech team Qcom with  ARM can invest more time for eGPU: Adreno 730 is awesome faster than mali G710, but as read here rumors talks about a new successor that is twice faster :D.

So wait for new X3 cores and put them on new socs for SBC/miniPC  8)

Isn't the point of having 3 different clusters to give you a burst of performance when you "need" it?

Yes, but how has that worked out for ARM? The rationale here is as Anonymousgg says: The quicker the tasks get done, the quicker [the Cortex-Xn core] can go back to using less power. But Cortex-X hasn't achieved its objective and arguably it has set ARM back. It is now hard to find anything about high spec SoCs based on ARM licensed tech that comes close to the level of what Apple is offering - Cortex-X produces heat rather than performance and its has blown the energy efficiency advantage that ARM cores once held over Apple's performance cores.

Granted, Cortex-X would be better in laptops or mini PCs, but the phone should be able to determine when the core(s) should run. Cortex-X is all about performance at any cost. The quicker the tasks get done, the quicker it can go back to using less power.

I wish qualcomm just go with cortex -7x series like they did on sd 865 and 855. If they do that, Their claims of being more powerful while being more efficient will really make sense

At this point, there is no sense to take premium phone. It not only will provide an additional performance we do not need in phone, but also will be hot with 5h SOT. Just take one tier lower SoC phone, the midrange market has some gems that still have great camera and build quality with such SoC's.

A new leak has now provided a first look at the performance characteristics of next-gen flagship chipsets like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, Exynos 2300, and the Dimensity 10000. Supposedly, ARM's upcoming Cortex X3 super cores look to be even less efficient than the already inefficient Cortex X2 cores on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Exynos 2200.
