It's nice to have another >4K monitor on the market, but I wish it were taller than 16:9 and didn't use only a thunderbolt port for connectivity. The latter is kind of expected for Apple, but it's strange how we haven't seen changes in the former yet.

I agree with below. It seems like they just took the existing LG panel, bonded it to a front glass layer, and designed a nice case. Nothing new in terms of actual display tech.

This is so dissapointing, no Mini LED, no high refresh rste. In terms of display performance this monitor is outclassed by the competition and makes no sense.

In all other terms this monitor is amazing, aluminum chasis, ecologically class leading, amazing camera and speakers.

This is confusing.

Apple has unveiled a new external monitor that is much cheaper Pro Display XDR and includes numerous features. The Apple Studio Display starts at US$1,599 and is already available to order. All models come with a 5K native resolution, an A13 Bionic chipset and six speakers.
