Besides the issues of monitoring private conversations in the first place... the problem with 'disinformation' is who becomes the arbiter of truth?  which all too often becomes the official, popular or highly advertised view... thus making efforts to block 'disinformation' really more about suppressing / silencing dissent.  Pretty much the exact opposite of free speech.

More and more today we are seeing the 'old' oppression of human rights resurfacing under politically correct branding designed to make bad ideas sound good again.

History repeats because humanity is gullible I suppose.

So not only are they saying they're monitoring private conversations, which shouldn't really come as a surprise but is still disturbing and disappointing, but that they're going to pick and choose what's "true" and what's "false" and censor those conversations accordingly. As much as the western world criticizes Russia, China, N. Korea, etc, we sure are trying really hard to be more like them.

Discord has announced new guidelines to combat health and Covid-19 misinformation on its platform. The policy intends to avert harm to individuals due to health falsehoods such as anti-vaccination content and erroneous cures. The company reassures users that legitimate discussions that are based on facts as well as satire will still be allowed.
