They might not have the best process, but hopefully it will end up lowering prices of chips worldwide. This chip shortage has been going on for too long.

Samsung process is quite a bit worse than the same from tsmc. But they unfortunately lure companies to use Samsung by having low prices. In the end we get bad products like the super hot snapdragon 888 and 8 gen 1.

Samsung is still trailing behind TSMC, but the South Korean foundries already managed to surpass Intel as far as 2021 revenues are concerned. 70% of the yearly revenue is invested by Samsung in improved production capacity, while TSMC only invests 50%, so the South Korean giant is confident that it can catch up and eventually overtake its main competitor by 2030.
