Microsoft has declared that the Windows Terminal app will be the default command line on Windows 11 PCs during 2022. Other third-party terminals will also have full functionality and users will be able to set them as default more easily. The intended change will begin with Windows Insiders, who, along with other users, can test the Windows Terminal app and provide feedback to Microsoft.
