The "regular" iPhone 12 isn't compact. The mini is compact.  I'm all for Samsung releasing a compact phone (I'd still have the S10e if it had 5G), but let's not start calling this leak "compact".  Hell the S21 is less than 1/4" taller.

Sigh, the Pixel 5 was the last "compact" holdout, and now that's gone.  I guess I'll be stuck with the iPhone 13 Mini for a while. At least they're offering parts to repair now.

I think that Apple's 'Mini' sales are a little misleading in the sense that the iphone se is nearly as small, and just as good inside, and has the novel (for Apple) feature of a fingerprint reader when those became prized during COVID. Also, they sell multiple phones at the same price - Iphone 11 with more storage, or iphone 11 pro, or iphone SE with more storage, or iphone 12 mini, etc.

I think Samsung will do ok with a smaller 'base' model, particularly if they can finally return the price to its more natural pre-5G fiasco setting.

I also believe they should make fewer phones over all, and make sure they're all durable reliable as they used to be. I see too many red flags in reviews, touchscreen issues, glass failure, etc. I owned an s8 forever, but Samsung's current lineup is a mess. FE? 21? 20? None of them seem to line up on price vs features any longer.

This is great. Except of s10e, s8 onwards are too tall.
I wish iris scanner comes back too. It's more secure than apple face id and works while using mask

A famous leaker now asserts that Samsung intends to take the vanilla model of its next generation of flagship smartphones coming and make it a "compact" variant of the line-up. The resulting "Galaxy S22 Mini" is slated to be small enough to fit inside the footprint of the new iPhone 13. This claim is based on alleged new information about the device's battery.
