Yeah I've used a Huawei P30 as my only computing device for 3 weeks while my notebook was away for repairs, I've connected an external monitor, a keyboard, a mouse and even a tablet (those with a pen, wacom style, worked only for half the screen but enough to take notes), apart from coding I could do basically everything I needed, I was quite surprised to see how well it worked, I mean, still quite a lot worse than a real computer but for being such a low power device with a mobile operating system and a relatively weak SOC it was quite cool

I don't get the no video output. I'd love to be able to hook my phone up to an external keyboard and do some basic tasks.

Ikr. It's not just an external keyboard, even connecting to the TV or external monitor is also super useful.

Even Sony and OnePlus can give video output despite not having their own Desktop Mode iteration unlike Samsung, Huawei, LG, and Motorola. It does makes me wonder why Google would even bother to put the barebone Desktop Mode feature in the first place.

According to a report, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will run on dual ARM Cortex-X1 and ARM Cortex-A76 cores, supported by four power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores. Both smartphones will support aptX, aptX HD and LDAC Bluetooth codecs, a feature of past Pixel smartphones. There will be no DisplayPort Alt Mode again though, with Google disabling video output on the Pixel 6 series.
