The sad thing is most people can't even see through this BS to recognize the truth, which is that they just want to end privacy. VPNs aren't even what's used to access the dark web. That's not their purpose or function. And most people will go along with it because "I don't care since I have nothing to hide." More and more, countries are stripping rights and freedoms and eliminating privacy. The U.S. probably isn't too far off from doing something like this. They've been trying for a while and I suspect it's only a matter of time.

The Indian Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs wants the Government to ban VPN services in India. It cites a rise in cybercrime and the fact that one can assess the 'dark web' using a VPN as the reasons.
