Neat idea, but yeah, I'm waiting for the cellular phone brain implant from Elon.

maybe the hardest issue to resolve with a foldable or rollable in this configuration, is choosing a "side" for the hinge or extension.

as such, it seems Samsung has determined that most consumers hold their device with their left hand & do basic (or minimal tasks) with that same hand - while holding the device. if an item is out-of-reach, they use their right hand to assist with the task.

both foldables & rollables requires (2) hands to either open/close or to extend/retract for viewing their larger screen options. so to securely hold the rollable device, the user must hold it on the heaviest side. the Z Fold 2 is fairly balanced (side-to-side) when opened. unlike the Huawei Mate X outward folding screen with a notable rear (handle) housing the camera array.

You know, we don't need these weird, rollable, flippable, cut-in-half-and-stick-it-in-the-fridge-able "phones". If you can even call it that.  We need like, a phone you can see through, but can barely see the screen from the other side.

I don't understand why it doesn't slide out left instead of right. Don't most people hold their phone with the right hand if one-handed? Wouldn't it be far more sturdy to keep the centre of gravity near the holding hand? Or is this a lefthanded model  ;D

Some earlier tips may imply the prospect of an upcoming rollable phone from Samsung that will be called the Galaxy Z Slide. Now, its latest leak suggests that it might even be ready to take the Z Fold series' place at a 2022 Unpacked event. It also now has renders based on what might be a patent that outlines its design and next-gen screen-extending functions.
