What if a grandmother sends a photo of her grandkid who is running around half naked, as happens so often with actual human beings? Will the grandmother be collected by the Gestapo and put in a concentration camp? Will she be shocked with electricity until she confesses?

Apple is an awful company to allow these fascist tactics.

This is definitely a slippery slope that will be used for far worse abuses and is a perfect example of how Apple is NOT the kind, gentle, privacy focused company that it pretends to be but is in fact the same abusive company it always was -- that uses slave labor in Xingjiang and whose underpaid Chinese workers jump off of buildings to end it all.

Really sucks to see them invading user privacy. I don't care what the reason is. Might as well search people's houses under the pretext of "only looking for illegal material." I'm switching to Android.

What a nice cozy pretext for the publicly sanctioned total invasion of privacy and rights by the marxist state, sorry but these phones and other electronics devices have been used for surveillance covertly for years, it's really built into them. Now the trick is the definition changing: "abuse" can be redefined by PTB at will. The old argument "I'm ok with them spying on me because I'm not doing anything wrong" has always been a fools haven. "Wrong" can be literally anything the marxist-bankster-megacorp beast says it means. And the law books are billions of pages long, they can find a violation/"wrong" for pretty much anything. From other spheres we've seen where facts and truth are not allowed by judges if you get my reference, 2+2=5.

"The bourgeoisie is marxist" lol, where's the abolition of private property and state then

Well, it's nice to see Apple finally showing their true colors on privacy. Remember, Apple doesn't care a bit about protecting consumers. They care about money, like everyone else, but their hypocritical BS makes them stand out.

If you want real privacy, you have to build it yourself. If you don't care that much, then stop pretending that it's a good reason to use Apple products.

Because sometimes innocent ones also get caught (due to some planned conspiracy) and they can't prove that they are innocent.

Hell is paved with good intentions.

Tyranny always begins with the supposed defense of moral order.

Obvious next step, scanning all your content for political and religious beliefs

The irony is that Apple has ads that directly bash on competitors for this very thing.

Basically you have no choice to be scanned. This is the exact reason why my phones always have expandable microSD..... it's disappointing people continue to vote with their wallets to erode their own freedoms.

The list of image hashes comes from the database that Epstein shared with Bill Gates, Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, etc.? Just asking for a friend.

In all seriousness, goodbye privacy, welcome 1984, you are late.

Apple released details on the controversial steps it will take to fight child abuse in the United States. Privacy advocates strongly criticized Apple's plans, even though other tech companies have been using similar technologies for many years.
