Hopefully it's a modified version of RDNA1 that DOES support AV1, because it's exactly the lower powered APUs that will need AV1 HW decoding the most!

Now, compare this to Intel, who always made their innovation available across the entire portfolio.

lmao, that's rich coming from a company who used to stifle innovation and sells quad core as enthusiast products for nearly 7 years.

truth is, AMD still believes that Intel GPU department aren't any danger to them. Xe-LP are good, but it's barely faster than Vega when both are properly configured. AMD already has RDNA, RDNA2, and the upcoming RDNA3 on their portofolio.

yes, in a way, it's kinda limiting performance, because AMD feels that Intel's presence on GPU business aren't threatening them yet.

So much for "never settle down"! Apparently, you're a second grade citizen if you're looking to purchase an APU.

Now, compare this to Intel, who always made their innovation available across the entire portfolio.

We were expecting to see RDNA iGPUs added to the Ryzen 5000 APUs, but AMD was not able to sync the production schedule for that to happen. Then we saw the leaked future gens with RDNA2 iGPUs, and we thought AMD is probably ditching the RDNA iGPUs altogether, but some recent Linux code uncovered by Phoronix seems to be proving us wrong.
