This is the story of The Boy Who Cried Wolf, only it's already more than 4 to 5 times.

Mediatek shouldn't overhype their product if they can't do it.

Lol, I was going to respond to the ridiculous first comment, but given the last paragraph and the username, I'll just assume it's satire. Good one, buddy.

I know what's going to happen. Since Mediatek is a non us brand. Definitely something( Privacy issue, security issues, etc.) is going to happen(e.g. no support from Google). And the processor is going to stay below SD SOP and A chip. And these processor will make 3,2,1,nm processor. It is never a competition.

How much did Mediatek pay for this ad? Mediatek has a history of grossly exaggerating the capabilities of their processors.

For example, their Dimensity 1200 is far slower than Qualcomm's last 4 generations of processors including the powerful 888, 870, 865+ and 865. You have to go back years to the 855 to find a Qualcomm processor with similar  benchmarks to the Dimensity 1200.

Even worse, Mediatek overclocks their processors to hide the weakness of their technology. This results in system instability, poor battery life and premature processor failure.

If Mediatek wants to compete with Qualcomm they need to open R&D facilities in the USA, Israel and Europe. Overseas offices could help save Mediatek when the PRC invades Taiwan.
sd 865, 865+ and sd870 are the same product in terms of cpu/gpu tech.
mediatek loses points because of unoptimized driver stack, but other than that they have quite good hardware.

MediaTek is set to deliver the first 4 nm chipset on the market later this year. The company will use TSMC's new 4 nm node in a bid to deliver its first truly flagship SoC, keeping it a step ahead of Qualcomm and its upcoming Snapdragon 898.
