Orin isn't Lovelace 5nm based, Atlan is.

I think Nintendo will upgrade the Switch (If they keep making it ) when the new screen Switch has had time to get old . What they do to it will probably have to do with pricing and availability of parts .

Yeah, eventually in 2028 Nintendo will release a console equipped with something comparable to a Lovelace GPU. It's like Astrology, if you keep saying stuff sooner or later you will get it right. Even though I was expecting people to refrain from restarting the Switch hype train even before the actual release of the Switch OLED Model that derailed the previous one.

Still, to be honest I'm more bewildered by the idea that Nvidia can magically outproduce AMD, it fits perfectly with the narrative of an EVIL NVIDIA pulling any dirt trick to keep its dominance, but it doesn't explain how they're going to get dozillions of chips while there's a chip shortage and only two foundries capable to build 5nm chips (and one, TSMC, is heavily booked by Apple already).

Nintendo rumours are never correct, that is the golden rule.
But it never stoped clicbait articles and hypetrains.

Welp, I clicked on the clickbait.

Nintendo generally doesn't hop onto the latest tech to keep costs low and for them to be able to generate decent hardware profits (from what I've read). So the chances of a "Switch Pro" happening with Lovelace are practically zero.

To put it bluntly, this article was a waste of time...

NVIDIA's Lovelace RTX 40 GPU design has apparently been finalized according to a new leak. Lovelace may also feature in the upcoming Nintendo "Super Switch" and could also be part of NVIDIA's Orin self-driving SoC systems. It looks like NVIDIA is planning to tackle competition from AMD RDNA 3 by ramping up production and reducing costs.
