Claiming the 1 iii demolished the Rog 5 in the speed test is a ridiculously exaggeration. It was a very minute lead.

Which also further makes it an EXCESSIVELY flawed and exaggerated claim to say this proves stock android is better. Just because of a tiny insignificant speed difference that won't even be noticed without a side by side comparison.

Oh it opens apps a tiny hair quicker so even though it lacks basic function and many logical useful additions it's so superior... hur dur....

Not mention you wanna see who wins in performance? Do a real performance test and watch the 1 iii fall far behind in throttling and battery.
Not to mention as well how much better the rog 5 is in speakers, headphones, many optimizations, multiple displays aspects besides 4k.... during the few moments the 1 iii decides to even let the display reach 4k, battery, pricing, availability, comparable in camera, etc, etc.

That would all be fine except the Xperia UI is not "heavily customised" - Sony even having dropped its bespoke gallery option for photos about a year or so ago. It's a shame because by most accounts I read the Google Photos option is dreadful. Even ASUS still maintain their own "Gallery" app.

QuoteThis again proves superiority of stock Android over customised ui.

That's why no Android phone is superior to Google's Pixel phones, in its category.

This all would be fine except for Sony smartphones do not run stock Android. Sony also, like Asus, has its own heavily customized u with its own quirks.

Google is the creator of the Android OS and Apple is the creator of iOS. That's why they both can create well optimised phones.

But also Google let others to use their Android OS. And those OEM's whose use it near stock, has a performance advantage as compared to those who slap a layer of thick custom UI.

The Sony Xperia 1 III has been put through its paces against a fierce competitor in the form of the Asus ROG Phone 5. Both Snapdragon 888 phones have a reputation for being fast, but it still comes as a surprise just how far ahead the Xperia 1 III manages to get against the ROG Phone 5 in this latest comparison.
