I think their problem is that they don't fit into a 15W TDP with the 4C+8C part, so they must create a new TDP range.
I also believe that the 2C+8C part will be slower than an 8c/16t amd ryzen 15w part (even the 5700U). this means that they will still be quite a bit behind in arguably the most important segment that is the ultraportables.

Anyways, we'll see. if 2 small cores are similar to a big GC core, then 2C + 8/2 = 4, would equal 6 big cores. Those cores are 10-20% better in IPC vs Zen 3, this means that this might just be comparable to an 8 core 16 thread zen 3 part like the 5800u, in the same 15w. Quite hard to make a judgement, so this is why it is exciting.

I'm talking of this. So will be a dGPU or iGPU? Also because the die size is early 190mm2 so can be easily inside AL cpu that is larger that RL.

Those articles are obviously talking about discrete GPUs.

The 14-core is probably that H45 i7 or i9, and they paired it with a discrete DG2 GPU. Then they tested it twice, once with the 96 EU iGPU, then with the 256 EU dGPU.

I doubt we will see a DG2 card with 960 EUs.

Uhm, so Alder Lake processor with 384EU posted by Videocardz was fake? Because in dozens we asked if it was an iGPU but nobody understood it.

Maybe it's for K series?

And finally, why intel doesn't start to adopt 3D tech to build smaller CPU instead increasing sizes like for AL. That tech must be added from 10nm. Instead we haven't seen yet, not for 10+++, not for M1 5nm.

Hope to see all this with meteor lake with scaling vector + 3D... or M2  ;D

It's a very interesting lineup.

Intel doesn't have 4 big cores at U15 and under, whereas AMD has 6-8 big cores at the 15W TDP. Those 8 small cores are going to have to work well, and maybe they will. Hopefully these 2+8 laptops are relatively cheap, since that is the die area equivalent of 4 cores.

96 EU graphics is in almost every segment, which is nice to see.

No 8 big cores until H55. But Intel will have an indisputable core lead with 8+8. I'm guessing the 6+8 will be decently better than AMD's 8-core options as well. Rembrandt will have 8 cores in 2022, and if Zen 5 Strix Point has 8+4, I'm guessing Zen 4 Phoenix will also only have 8.

Information about Intel's upcoming Alder Lake hybrid CPUs has leaked once again, and this time we are getting to see the segmentation in the Alder Lake mobile lineup. Alder Lake mobile will introduce two new TDP segments, U28 and H55, and will top-out at 8 Golden Cove cores and 8 Gracemont cores for the H55 "Muscle" variants targeted at high-end gaming laptops.
