What's the point in talking about how expensive some local Chinese products are? It makes sense if your Chinese audience is big enough. Otherwise it's just a waste of digital space since the rest of the world cannot buy these at an affordable price. Or it's just a good opportunity for you to push some Amazon product referrals.

A "new" laptop capped to 16GB of memory, just like the laptops from ten years ago. So disappointing.

Out of the two, I would pick the 14" model, probably the 5500U one. For media consumption and iGPU gaming, there is no difference between Zen2 Lucienne and Zen3 Cezanne, but Lucienne is cheaper. The 15" model does not have a numpad either, so no point in lugging heavier machine/charger.

if you like gaming, why waste a zen3 in a laptop without a gpu; and not the low end nvidia mx series used in the intel edition laptops, that are also having thermal issues when used in gaming

16GB soldered RAM? That is planned obsolescence. Why would you do it?
16GB is plenty enough for a basic use for years to come... It's a budget laptop, after all, targeted for basic use.
But if you plan on using you laptop in a more intense way then yeah, this is not for you.

Four new Ryzen 5000 laptops have just been released courtesy of Xiaomi's subsidiary Redmi. The RedmiBook Pro 14 Ryzen Edition laptop offers buyers the choice between two Zen 2 Lucienne parts while purchasers of the RedmiBook Pro 15 Ryzen Edition laptop can look forward to getting to grips with one of two Zen 3 Cezanne APUs.
