Had an Asus gaming laptop, purchased 3 years ago. Got motherboard failure after 30 months, 6 months over the warranty. Asus projected repair cost to be 50% price of original purchase. Chose different professional repair service. There the casing was damaged, which broke the LCD display. Chose another fixing service. They have found the motherboard issue, fixed it with simple smoldering correction...but now I would need to replace the LCD display and the enclosure. Spent 11 weeks with waiting and 250 EUR to chase down the smoldering issue. Still far cheaper than Asus service. Decided to rather spend the money on building PC. Now the graphic cards price are far as Mars itself.
Smoldering issue...quite serious for electronics ;)

I completely agree about the low score for HP. I had a defective Spectre x360 14 (1699) with some sort of trackpad wobble. I called in for a repair, and when I got it back, 3 weeks later and out of my return period, it seemed that they did absolutely nothing. The trackpad wobble was still there. Thus, I called in for another repair, and then 3 weeks later, it seemed that they did fix the trackpad wobble, but now the keyboard is crazy mushy and has no more tactile feedback, so I was forced to call in for another repair. The person on the phone told me that there had already been 2 repairs and now they are going to make a "complaint" with HP. In the complaint, they said no more repairs, but they can replace it or return it. The thing is that they only returned it for 1099! Long story short, I lost 600 dollars trying to get a laptop from HP.
The reason the fix broke something else is that the trackpad and keyboard are often one single part from the perspective of their repairs system, my Dell had a defective keyboard(but not the keys) and while they were supposed to replace a circuit board they also replaced the keys, and because I wasn't careful when inspecting the unit it left me with a mushy spacebar, at least it's usable. So if possible you should've attempted a pickup at their service center, and only pick it up if everything's in order, if not, point it out to them on the spot.

This survey lost its credibility a bit when I noticed Dell had more participation rates for Smartphones than Asus.
