Wow, that's a very aggressive optical setup there with the periscope, a 1/3" and f/2.3-2.8 zoom in a not-so-thick body. IIRC last time we had modules in this range they had both a smaller sensor(excluding the Samsung) and a slower lens, and no zoom either.

Really looking for the 1 iii's battery life with that 4K 120Hz configuration. GSMArena themselves managed to clock 83 hours of battery endurance rating from the 1 ii, and that has a 4K 60Hz screen. The bigger 4,500mAh battery now definitely puts both 1 ii and the 5 ii in the same league as Samsung's S21 series. Also, that periscope telephoto camera is a neat touch.

Sony has introduced two new Xperia premium phones — the Xperia 1 III and Xperia 5 III. Both phones sport largely similar specifications including the Snapdragon 888 5G SoC with the main differences being with respect to the display, storage options, wireless charging, and a 3D ToF camera. The highlight of this launch is the introduction of a variable telephoto lens that offers a focal length between 70 mm and 105 mm.
