Mi 10T Pro 5G here. Updating some system apps fails. Random crashes every now and then, even without any activity at all (very nasty when wake up because of the startup sound in the middle of the night). All in all, I am currently rather unsatisfied with this phone. It feels more like a prototype than a finished product.

It happened to me a few times as well. Just keep trying. It will eventually work...
@Jay-nz: Well, I would advise you to hold on for a week or two and see if you get the 12.5 notification. If not, update to 12.1.2-12.1.5 and then check for 12.5. Despite the bugs, I can't say that the phone becomes unusable with 12.1.x. Annoying, yes, but not unusable...

I've held off updating to MIUI 12.1.x. Because of all the bugs I've been hearing of. I heard 12.5 has been released a couple of days ago, do I need to update to 12.1 before I can then update to 12.5?

The major issues I am facing with 12.1.2

1. Touch screen stops responding at a spot.
2. Picture in picture doesn't allow to use the phone if I use it the picture goes off.
3. Sometimes the phone plays content from the earpiece instead of speaker.

I just updated to MIUI 12.1.5 and it feels much more snappy and less buggy. Working on an article right now. Stay tuned!

Does anyone have the underlying problems other than me?
Mi 10 T Pro to my device "MIUI 12.1.2.0 global" I installed the version. (Fastboot mode) errors I have:
1. There is a slowdown in screen transitions.
2. Interface has contractions and slows down.

Audio instability and Touchscreen and Fullscreen gestures bugs for me.

Since I'm using Dual App for Messenger to log-in both mine and wife's account whenever I make a call that's unanswered or dropped, the main audio does not go back to the loud speaker. so ringtones and media goes thru the earpiece only with low volume. To fix this I have to go to settings > apps > manage apps then force stop the 2nd messenger app or both apps to return the audio to normal. You will know this is happening if you press the volume, the "call" icon appears on the bottom of the volume bar instead of the "media" or "loudspeaker" icons.

Other audio bug that I noticed is when you launch the GameSpace (upgraded from Game Turbo) the intro sound goes with the ringtone channel and not the media channel. It kinda defeats the purpose of the immersive experience, especially when you put the phone in silent or DND temporarily so it's silent when opening the gaming tool.

As for the touchscreen issues, the lower half of the screen sometimes does not respond to swipes up or down unless I press harder. For full screen gestures, I can't perform a back gesture on some areas on the lower left part of the screen. Im not sure if this was intended, since most right handed users barely use that part off the screen for one-handed use but they could have at least gave us an on/off toggle if it was.

Other nitpicks I can think of is the adaptive refresh rate. It does not trigger when you change the orientation of the phone unless you're touching any part of the screen so the rotating animation appears sluggish reminiscent of a lower-end chipset.

After updating, I noticed instability in Wifi connection speed.
So I decided to reboot the device
And my device lost all audio since then!!!

Tried Factory resetting a few times, but still didn't work.
all features work well except for the audio
The camera works fine... but soon as I switch to video recording mode, the app crashes..

Security update 9 April
This doesn't show in update about phone but rather hidden away when you go to system updater.
Well it seems like Xiaomi has hidden Miu 12.5 update in a pushed security patch overnight.
Menu has reset and fast charging doesn't work. Battery is taking 8 hours to charge fully. Can only have 1 app at a time, recent apps doesn't work and neither does multi tasking. It's so bad I'm using statutory rights with the retailer to get a refund. Don't bother with Xiaomi support they will try to fob you off with a scripted long wind returns process asking for proof of purchase and photos of device etc even though they have the IMEI recorded as being under warranty. I have bought cheap phones which have stood test time well. Sadly Xiaomi promised more than the developers can keep up with and has failed. I will not buy one again.

I got a few camera freezes myself as well. Until the next update, feel free to use on of the GCam mods out there. For night shots they're definitely better than the MIUI camera app. Here's a topic on XDA that will help you: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/gcam-thread-mi-10t-pro-only.4179467/

I have problems with camera on Xiaomi 10T pro after update. It freez in Portrait and width 0,6x mode. Is there solution to fix it

MIUI 12.5 should come out next month if we're lucky, and by the end of May if we are not that lucky.
