At first I was upset that I just bought my RTX 2080 SC GPU before the GTX 3000s were announced.  Now I have no regrets after the shortage debacle and glad I got my GPU when I did.  ;)

The Wall Street guys are horrible humans but atleast some of them are smart but all you crypto-meme "investors" behave like you people have a single-celled brain and are always barking on every platform to buy crypto...
The general public hates the Wall Street guys but it's starting to hate you 'hodl' shouting dum-dums too.

Simple solution.  Sell them at $5k then offer a rebate during check out.  One per household.  would solve part of the hording

Don't get angry, dumdums... beat them at their own game.

Buy crypto (be early-in), hodl, get rich, then YOU ARE THE DANGER.  >:D

Make money quick, then pay the dumb scalper rates because it doesn't matter because you've got dem crypton stonks.

These cards are all being used to mine vertcoin in secret before they are telling the public about it. We are getting large shipments. The price is going to go through the roof.

NGL, I think it's more important that cards are being used to keep a business afloat than to give gamers the latest, slightly better graphics.

Still, the perfect storm of the pandemic, scalpers, and cryptocurrency hikes has lead to one hell of a frustrating shortage situation, and I'm not even in the market for a new card.

Have to say as a miner its getting crazy ive only been able to buy a mix of  30 x 3060ti and 3070s. I could do with double that right now with the price of Eth right now. Even buying off overclockers i had to do 10 individual orders and pay postage on 10 boxes because they only allowed 1 to be sold at a time. Crazy times.

They would be more efficient with RGB off

of course it's miners and scalpers, people. Did you really believe that it is a shortage problem?
And a simple question was enough as preventive measure: a phone call verification, with ID card number and payment method. Max. 2 cards allowed per phone number or ID number or payment method.
Manufacturer and stores do not want to solve the problem, it's as simple as that

Dont worry folks once the crypto currency mining limit is achieved these cards are practically useless and then the have to sell em cheap on ebay to get rid of all at once.

Nvidia is the one to blame for all this..why are they selling so many units to a single party when all their new models are available in limited quantities.
At first, they should sell only 1 unit to one customer using some sort of identification along with it.
We should all boycott Nvidia. While AMD should capitalise on this and launch Radeon cards of similar capability and make great sales. That will teach Nvidia a nice lesson and show the true power of consumers..

Cryptocurrency is the worst thing that has come out of the Internet. It has produced even worse people (douches) than Youtubers.

COVID-19 has caused some internet cafes to pivot their business models, with RTX 30 series graphics cards replacing people. Unsurprisingly these new graphics cards are being used for mining cryptocurrencies.
