Tried this (same thing but iTec logo). Does not work on Android period.

Google Pixel phones don't support dp alt mode unfortunately.

This hub doesn't seem as practical as some others. It doesn't have Ethernet and sd card slots, and no usb-c data port. The second HDMI seems to be only for 1920px. And it's half pound or close to 500g.

I've only found 2 on Amazon which supports gen2. The Anker 8 in 1 seemed the more useful one, somewhere around 130g. However it only has a single HDMI port but can support higher display refresh rate.

Yes, but does it get hotter than the surface of the sun when in use? That's usually the problem with these compact hubs. They get hotter than the ultrabooks that actually use them!
