Like many dedicated Pixel owners, I just replaced my Pixel2 xl with a Pixel 5. I am disappointed in the very small size.
I had planned on purchasing a flagship Pixel4xl, but alas....the battery.
3 years go by....I am itching to purchase a flagship phone.
In those 3 years, no new camera hardware, just incredible camera software.
I was hoping for both a wide angle and a telephoto and new camera hardware. (I am not alone in this)
I will return my Pixel 5 because I cannot read it without reading glasses, as it is simply too small.
I am contemplating purchasing an Apple 12Pro Max.
3 years is a long time for a phone, only to be disappointed.

Absolute features is more of a checkmark features

I meant absolute CPU performance.

And yeah, they need to upgrade their cameras. That one is going to annoy me since my Pixel 5 arrives today. But they're extremely unlikely to make their own camera, too, unless they really have something happening with Samsung.

Creating a new chip is a huge endeavour, they have to choose focus carefully. Current mobile CPUs are "fast enough" for everyday tasks (switching to another programming language rather than just optimizing the existing won't make that much difference, they are very unlikely to prioritize C++ since it's not widely used).

I think they are going to target smaller/thinner, more integrated devices with better battery life, along with continued innovation, like better integrated Soli and features enabled by precise motion tracking, at the same time making it so they can get away from Qualcomm eking out mainstream features. Absolute features is more of a checkmark features for enthusiast sites than generally meaningful, especially since there are so many factors like GPU, cores, interface speeds, etc.

It's really only some gamers that care about the highest performance. Can't find very specific stats, but according to what I found, 10% of gross screen time is mobile games, of which I'd guess the vast majority is low resource games like crosswords. It's still a huge industry, but Google might focus on Stadia for the more demanding market.

Awesome news!
Hopefully, they will change the camera sensors too. Apparently, they are still using the ones from Pixel 3. Can't complain too much as the software does its magic.

Also I would like to ask our Lord and Savior to Make Google release their own Google silicone next year that is comparable to an Intel i9 k 10000 processor on their new fuchsia OS operating system, on their flagship phone

and then dub these the next evolution of Pixel phone

Dear Lord and Savior,

Please have Google announce the replacement of Android and Chrome OS with fuchsia OS to unite all of Google's operating systems into one entity built solely for stability, performance and security.

please have Google announce that they are no longer supporting Android devices and that most current Android devices will have the ability to upgrade to the fuchsia operating system. Where it is built on c++, and literally can boost performance of up to 24 times that of Swift or Java because it is almost literally machine language.

Also please have Google release a pixel watch.

In my book the Pixel 5 is a flagship. A flagship is whatever the company's top of the line option is.
